Stay Cool Window Tinting Ltd. (“Stay Cool”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through staycooltinting.ca and when you do business with us, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a quote, contact us, or book a service, we may collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your vehicle’s year, make and model, and the services, films or packages you are interested in
- For home or commercial work: the project address, window sizes and other details about the job
- Photos you choose to upload
- Your preferred contact method, how you heard about us, and anything else you write in your message
- Payment and invoicing details when you pay for a service
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived at our site. This is collected through cookies and similar tools (see “Cookies and analytics” below).
Why we use your information
- To answer your questions and prepare your quote
- To schedule, complete and invoice your installation, including mobile service at your location
- To provide warranty service and keep records of the work we did on your vehicle or property
- To contact you about your booking, quote or warranty by your preferred method (email, text message or phone)
- To send you service reminders, offers and news about our services (see “Marketing messages” below)
- To protect our website from spam and abuse
- To understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Marketing messages
We may send you emails or text messages about our services, promotions, seasonal offers and maintenance reminders. We send these in line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), which means we only send them when you have given us permission, or when you have bought a service from us or asked us about our services recently. Every marketing message identifies Stay Cool and includes an easy way to unsubscribe. You can also opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text message or by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not affect messages about a quote, booking or warranty you have with us.
Consent
By submitting a form, emailing or calling us, or booking a service, you consent to us collecting and using your information for the purposes described in this policy. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, although this may mean we can no longer provide a quote or service.
Who we share it with
We only share personal information with service providers who help us run our business, and only as much as they need to do their job. These include:
- Website hosting: Hostinger, which hosts our website and stores form submissions
- Email: Google (Gmail), which delivers and stores the emails sent through our website
- Spam protection: Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that form submissions come from real people
- Website analytics: Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- Maps and reviews: Google Maps, and a reviews display service that shows our Google reviews on our site
- Business tools: the scheduling, invoicing, phone and text messaging software we use to manage bookings and talk with customers
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
Storage outside Canada
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, your information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities. If you have questions about how these providers handle personal information, please contact us.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files saved by your browser. We use them to make our website work, to remember your cookie choices and, with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our site. Analytics data is reported to us in summary form and is not used to identify you. You can manage cookies through our cookie banner (where shown) and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. To opt out of Google Analytics across websites, you can use Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and customer records for as long as we reasonably need them for our business and legal purposes. This includes providing warranty service (our window tint warranty is lifetime and our paint protection film warranty is up to 15 years), serving returning customers, answering questions about past work, and meeting tax and accounting requirements. Because of our long warranties and the many customers who come back to us with new vehicles, we generally keep these records on an ongoing basis. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your choices and rights” below).
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections on our website, password-protected accounts, spam protection on our forms, and access limited to the people at Stay Cool who need it to serve you. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities as required by law if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we have used it
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal or warranty reasons
- Stop contacting you for marketing

Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as Google, Facebook and Instagram. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
